Jambo

Greetings from Kenya.

We have had a great week in Tanzania on a Walking Safari with a group of Brits. There were 11 of us in total and we had lots of fun. We went on 3 walks 2 in the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and 1 just outside Serengeti National Park. We also went on game drives in the Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro Crater, which were lots of fun. In Ngorongoro Crater we had close interaction with a group of lions we went to see some lions at the top of the hill, anyway they were using the safari vehicles as shade, when the cars that were currently being used as shade left they came and lay in the shade of the car we were in, there was a young male and female lion. The male decided that under the car was even better and so was half under the car. When we started the engine to go the male sat partly up but his backside was still partly under the car so the driver had to do a sharp turn to get us away from the lion.
We also got to see 4 of the big 5 - Elephant, Buffalo, Cheetah/Leopard(not 100% sure which one is included, but we saw both) and Lions. Rhino alluded us and we hope to see it while we are in Kenya.
We also saw lots of Zebra, Giraffe, Gazelle, Impala, Baboons, Hippos and many kinds of birds.

We are now on a Safari in Kenya, this is a lodge Safari so very different from the last Safari as we were camping for the Tanzanian one.
We have spent 1 night in Amboseli National Park, at the foothills of Mt Killimanjaro however we did not get to see the mountain as it was always covered in cloud. Today we are in Tsavo National Park, we can still see Killi but it is a bit further away and still covered in cloud. We have done 2 game drives so far, one in each park. In Amboseli alot of the animals were standing in the swamp to cool off, and in the late afternoon there was a dust storm where we could see very little. We also got to see a very young elephant and lots of wildebeast (there weren't very many in Tanzania).
Today in Tsavo national park we saw volcanic rock and also visited the Mizum Springs where there were a quite a few hippos and crocodiles.
Yesterday Gaby went to a Masaai Village which was very interesting the houses, called Bomas are quite small and very dark. The community did a welcome dance, said a welcome prayer, talked about medicines, showed how they made fires, and saw the local school.
