End of Alaska Trip

Well our time in Alaska is over and we are currently in Seattle Airport on our way to camp.

The last 2 days were good, although we are quite tired now. Our second last day in Alaska we drove from Talkeetna to Seward, stopping at a few rest areas between Anchorage and Seward including Turnagain Arm before arriving in Seward. Once we arrived in Seward we walked to Exit Glacier which was very nice.

Yesterday we went on a Kenai Fjords tour however it was rainy and windy with rough seas so we were unable to get out past the Aialik Cape, which meant that we were unable to view the 2 main glaciers however we did get to see the Bear Glacier and saw quite a few animals. A humpback whale even breached itself out the side of the boat which was very cool, we also saw some Orcas. Other animals we saw were Bald Eagles, Cormorant, Sea Lion and Sea Otters which were very nice.

We had lunch on the boat which was chicken strips and Halibut fish strips. There was also a second lunch/dinner at Fox Island which was Salmon, Corn, rice and Salad.

After the tour we did a bit of souveneir shopping and headed back to Anchorage where we visited Barnes and Noble and Wal-mart and did a bit of browsing before our flight. We arrived at the airport at about midnight and left Anchorage at 2:40am. Today we are flying from Seattle to Dallas/Fort Worth then on to Baltimore Airport.

It sounds as if you're having a wonderful time - especially all the wildlife. Best wishes for the rest of your trip - and for a very enjoyable camp.
Love Liz and Glen
