LA Stopover

Los Angeles has come and gone. We were staying at the Crown Plaza hotel just near the Airport and the closest shops were half an hour walk away. We arrived in the morning at about 10am, and got through immigration and customs reasonably quickly and without any fuss. We managed to stay awake until the CCUSA orientation that started at 5pm, which was a challenge due to getting about 5 hours sleep on the plane each.

In the orientation we went through some games that would be played at camps and got to meet some of the other people that were also on the program. We met another couple Jono and Nicole who are also going to Camp Sonshine. After orientation we were grateful to crash into bed and get a decent nights sleep.

The next day (21st) we spent the day visiting Santa Monica and Venice Beach with Jono and Nicole before catching the bus back to pick up the airport shuttle for our flight to Alaska.
